De kerncentrale Flamanville ligt in de gemeente Flamanville in de Franse regio Normandië aan het Kanaal. De centrale heeft twee drukwaterreactoren en een derde in aanbouw. Deze nieuwe reactor heeft een verwachte levensduur van 60 jaar. De bouw van de nieuwe derdegeneratiekernreactor van het type European Pressurized Reactor is in 2007 gestart en de centrale zou na een bouwtijd van vijf jaar oorspronkelijk in 2012 in productie komen. Na verschillende tegenslagen en uitstellen wordt de eerste elektriciteit verwacht in 2025. Het project vergt een investering van zo’n 19 miljard euro, dat is vijf keer meer dan de originele raming van 3,4 miljard euro.
