L'Autòdrom de Brooklands fou el primer circuit oval d'automobilisme construït a Europa i el segon del món. El circuit, de 2,75 milles de llargada, fou inaugurat el 17 de juny de 1907, poc després de l'Autòdrom de Lakeside de Califòrnia que fou innagurat el 20 d'abril del mateix any. En l'actualitat està en desús però és especialment protegit pel Govern Britànic i a més d'acollir un museu de Mercedes serveix com a dipòsit per a avions en desús de British Airways. Situada a Weybridge, Surrey la pista va quedar en desús a causa de la falta de visibilitat per als espectadors i la perillositat que causaven els seus elevats peralts.
La disputa de Grans Premis d'Automobilisme en aquest circuit va començar l'any 1926 de la mà de Henry Segrave qui, després de guanyar el Gran Premi de França de 1923 i el d'Espanya de 1924, va aconseguir interessar a l'afició per aquest esport a Anglaterra. El primer Gran Premi de Gran Bretanya fou guanyat per Louis Wagner i Robert Senechal que conduïren un Delage 155B.
