Am 1. November 2015 wurde das Unternehmensgeschäft als Hewlett Packard Enterprise abgespalten und die Hewlett-Packard Company in HP Inc. umbenannt. Daher ist HP keine Abkürzung für Hewlett-Packard mehr, sondern offizielle Firmierung. Im Rahmen der Aufspaltung wechselten 252.000 Mitarbeiter zu Hewlett Packard Enterprise, während 50.000 Mitarbeiter bei HP Inc. verblieben.
