Der Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport ist seit 1951 der internationale Verkehrsflughafen von Anchorage . Der Flughafen mit einer Fläche von 18 km² verfügt über drei Asphaltpisten und zwei Passagierterminals, das südliche ist für nationale, das nördliche für internationale Flüge vorgesehen. Anchorage ist Drehkreuz für Alaska Airlines und seit langem kontinuierlich unter den Top 10 der größten Frachtflughafen der Welt; in den Jahren 2007, 2006, 2005 und 2001 sogar auf Platz 3 auf dieser Weltrangliste.
Der Kongress billigte 1948 den Bau eines internationalen Flughafens mit zwei Start- und Landebahnen. Der offizielle Betrieb startete im Dezember 1951.
