Opel Automobile GmbH, vaak afgekort tot Opel, is een van oorsprong Duitse autofabriek, die sinds 2021 in handen is van het multinationale autoconcern Stellantis. In 1862 werd het bedrijf opgericht door Adam Opel en pas in 1899 werd de eerste auto van het merk geproduceerd. Sinds de omzetting in een Aktiengesellschaft in 1929 behoorde Opel tot de General Motors-groep. Als gevolg hiervan zijn Opel-modellen ook bij andere merken van General Motors te vinden, zoals Vauxhall , Holden en Chevrolet . Ook van drie voorgaande merken zijn af en toe modellen bij Opel te vinden.
