The former milk factory is now a museum, where you can see how the milk used to be processed into butter and buttermilk. The former barn is now a shop where many local products are sold.
A milk factory that was founded in 1899 and only ran until 1907. The arrival of a milk factory in Westerbork, which was powered by steam, meant that this factory had to close its doors after only eight years. Later, it was put back into use for the production of cheese.
The building
The building consists of a house and two U-shaped barns. Characteristic of the house are the slightly arched six-pane windows and the door with fanlight. There is a cellar under part of the house. Furthermore, one wall has a block plaster. The saddle pad is covered with flat Frisian tiles. Next to the chimney with sign you can see a round window with tracery, a profiled gutter moulding, wind springs, clumping under the tiled deck and a pent roof at the rear. Both barns are built of stone and covered by a thatched hipped roof, against a straight façade with stone and wood respectively. The yard is paved with bricks and cobblestones.
