Bohan

The park and nature reserve Ardenne and Gaume de Bohan-membre consists of deciduous and coniferous woods, coppice, moorland, remarkable rock formations and of course this meander of the Semois. The slopes are steep and the "cornice" trails run along the slopes. The natural park abounds in rich flora. The Semois is home to the swimming and frizzy pondweed, as well as green algae and aquatic buttercup, which blooms from May to August. Under the poplars on the banks grow rosehips, horsetails, large glycery, watercress, water plantain and large petastite. The hardwood woods consist of oaks, beech, elms, hornbeams, aspen, hazel, birch, ash, glutinous alder, maple, black alder and elderberry. In the layer of grass you discover among others common heather, blueberry, raspberry, fern-eagle, deer tongue, seal-of-solomon, lily of the valley, Robert's grass, cleft lip, daffodil, pansy, valerian, primrose, foxglove, broom, mulberry, a currant, small periwinkle, several types of sedge and an abundance of bear garlic, which makes the smell of garlic invade the wood in spring.
As for wildlife, lovers of waterfowl, fish, mammals and birds will not be left hungry.

TYPE OF ROAD
This walk is reserved for experienced walkers. There are steep descents and climbs. A loss of concentration can mean a fall of several tens of meters. In any case, do not lose sight of your children, if you bring them.
You have understood that the route is inaccessible to strollers and wheelchairs.

MARKUP
The route is dotted with a few signposts that also bear the colorful markers of this walk. In the description, you will learn how useful they will be to you. In general, the promenade is very well marked, but here and there the vandals have already destroyed the signs (with all due respect for those who have invested themselves in marking pleasant roads, but such a marking invites problems).

PARKING
You can certainly store your car in the car parks between the church of Bohan and the Semois, in the Rue du Pont, but during the tourist season free places can be rare.
