The Belgian Trappist Westvleteren XII was once again voted best beer in the world at the RateBeer Awards 2014. This is evident from the top 100 best beers in the world, which the American beer website RateBeer has announced. In addition, nine other Belgian beers were included in the list. For the fourth year in a row, the Westvleteren XII has won the race. The West Flemish municipality of Vleteren is emphatically present in the list of the best beers in the world. In addition to the Westvleteren XII, the Extra 8 of Westvleteren made it into the top 100. In addition, the Black Albert, Pannepot and the Pannepot Reserva from brewery De Struise Brouwers from Oostvleteren were included in the international list. In addition, the Sint-Bernardus Abt 12, the Gouden Carolus Cuvée of the Emperor, the raspberry lambic Hommage of 3 Fonteinen from Beersel, the Bush de Nuits (Scaldis Prestige de Nuits) of the Dubuisson brewery and the Trappist Rochefort 10 were also elected. The RateBeer Awards have been presented annually since 2002. The list is drawn up on the basis of the odds given by the beer lovers themselves on the RateBeer website.
