Beersel Castle is a moated castle and one of the few well-preserved examples of medieval martial architecture in our country. It still stands as it looked at the end of the 15th century. Over the centuries, this water castle had a very eventful history.
In 1999, the municipality of Beersel took over the management of the castle from the Royal Association of Historic Residential Cities of Belgium through a leasehold agreement.
The main objective is the restoration, renovation and further improvements to the castle.
Since 2003, the castle has been renovated in several phases.
