The ‘Tielt in the First World War’ Experience

Since the summer of 2011, it has been possible to discover the story of Tielt during WWI in the Mulle de Terschueren mansion house in the town centre. Between 1914 and 1918 Tielt was the strategic headquarters of the German Fourth Army. A room on the first floor of the Mulle de Terschueren mansion has been turned into an experience area, where you can learn what life was like behind the ‘other side’ of the front. A multimedia presentation will highlight the story of both the occupiers and the occupied during those dark years.
