Spanish Bank of Algae

The Spanish Bank of Algae is a national R&D service attached to the Marine Biotechnology Center of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria , which objectives are the isolation, identification, characterization, conservation and provisioning of microalgae and cyanobacteria. It was previously known as the National Bank of Algae .

In addition to the functions of isolation, identification, characterization, conservation and provisioning, standard in any collection of microorganisms, the CBM-BEA/ULPGC aims to function as a service facilitating the development of a new bioindustrial sector based on the cultivation and application of microalgae.
