Cet immeuble historique datant du 17e siècle a été restauré entre 1996 et 1998 et héberge un passionnant musée municipal. La collection d'objets d'art se concentre surtout sur les sculptures d'Yvonne Serruys (Menin 1873 - Paris 1953), de Georges Dobbels (Menin 1910 - Bruxelles 1988) et de Johan Tahon (Menin 1965). Deux autres salles sont consacrées aux grands épisodes de l'histoire de la ville: les douanes et la frontière, l'industrie du lin, la première Guerre Mondiale, les forteresses de Menin,...
Le musée organise également d'intéressantes expositions temporaires. La charmante cafétéria invite les visiteurs à épiloguer sur leur visite.
