Saint-Omer /sɛ̃tɔ'mɛʁ/ è un comune francese di 15.606 abitanti situato nel dipartimento del Passo di Calais nella regione dell'Alta Francia.
Era sotto il nome di Sithiu, una località insignificante in cui, nel VII secolo, il vescovo di Thérouanne, Sant'Audomaro , seguace di San Colombano futuro abate di Bobbio, fondò l'abbazia di San Bertino, ingrandendo la chiesa fondata dallo stesso Colombano e dai suoi monaci. Da Audomaro-Omer il nome della città divenne Audomari fanum.
