'Villa Sporta' is een beschermd monument. Langsheen de Portiekenlaan en de Distellaan vinden we verschillende beschermde gebouwen terug, wat er op wijst dat deze straten hun karakter van de vroege 20ste eeuw vrij goed bewaard hebben. Hier kunnen we met andere woorden nog een beetje de sfeer opsnuiven van hoe de stad er voor de vroege kusttoeristen uitzag. Geen hoge appartementsgebouwen, maar kleine, charmant vormgegeven burgerhuizen, winkels en hotels waren toen norm.
Dit hoekhuis werd gebouwd in 1924. Verschillende sierelementen verwijzen naar een Anglo-Normandische invloed, ook gekend als cottagestijl. Vooral de bovenste verdieping vertoont hier pseudovakwerk.
