Onderaan de westelijke flank van de Kemmelberg ligt een Franse begraafplaats. Deze begraafplaats bestaat uit 4 massagraven waarin 5294 Franse soldaten rusten. Enkel 57 onder hen zijn geïdentificeerd. Hun namen vind je terug op de centrale obelisk. Dit gedenkteken herinnert de Franse aanwezigheid tijdens WO I en herdenkt de vele Franse verliezen tijdens de Slag om de Kemmelberg in 1918. Vanaf dit punt geniet je van een prachtig panoramisch zicht.
Boven op de top van de Kemmelberg kijkt "Den Engel" van het "Monument aux Soldats français" treurig uit over het massagraf en het slagveld.
