Ens remuntem al segle XIII quan aquest bell edifici renaixentista va rebre el nom de " Lakenhuis ", des del segle XV els llavors propietaris el van rebatejar " Hof van Schoofs ".
Després, l'edifici va ser utilitzat per a moltes coses: successivament com a casa del consell, casa d'un mercader , " Den Duitslandsch ", un comerç de vi (on es va construir la bonica torre de la casa) i com a casa gremial dels ballesters.
També aquí veureu una porta d'arc rodó i columnes toscanes on dones alades amb corones de llorer, fruits, garlandes i un escut donen a l'edifici una dimensió extra. Potser un fet important és que l'any 1470 Margareta van York ( esposa de Karel de Stoute ) va veure la processó de Sant Rumbold o Sant Rumold des de l'Hof van Schoofs.
