Hagen és una ciutat de Renània del Nord-Westfàlia, Alemanya, situada a la regió del Ruhr, a la seva vora oriental. Hagen es troba a només 15 km al sud de Dortmund, on els rius Lenne, Volme i Ennepe s'uneixen amb el riu Ruhr. La població de la ciutat és d'uns 197.456 habitants . La ciutat és la seu de la FernUniversität Hagen, que és l'única universitat d'educació a distància a Alemanya finançada per un estat, actualment compta amb més de 67.000 estudiants , i és la universitat més gran d'Alemanya.
