Dénia és una ciutat del País Valencià, capital de la comarca de la Marina Alta i també de la comarca històrica del Marquesat de Dénia.
Tenia 41.553 habitants censats l'1 de gener del 2015 , però a l'estiu la població pot arribar a multiplicar-se per cinc, i arriba als 200.000. És el municipi de l'Estat que més estiuejants rep segons les xifres de població estacional del Ministeri d'Hisenda i Administracions Públiques. L'11 de desembre de 2015 va ser declarada Ciutat Creativa de la Gastronomia per la Unesco.
