Antequera és un municipi d'Andalusia situat a la província de Màlaga , concretament a la comarca del mateix nom, a 45 km de Màlaga i a 160 de Sevilla. La seua població és de 44.032 habitants. El municipi constitueix un magnífic conjunt monumental fruit del seu passat històric. Hi ha més de mig centenar d'edificis que recullen l'arquitectura religiosa i civil, i són datats entre l'Edat del Bronze i el segle xviii.
