Fontilles és un sanatori situat a la Vall de Laguar creat pel Jesuïta Pare Carles Ferris en 1909, per confinar dintre del seu recinte als malalts de lepra.
Actualment, i donat que aquesta malaltia ha remés, s'han reacondicionat uns pavellons com a residència de Gent Major.
Declarada d'Utilitat Pública en 1966, Fontilles pertany a la Federació Internacional de Lluita contra la Lepra , formada per 15 associacions de 13 països.
