El palau del Buen Retiro va ser un conjunt arquitectònic palatí de grans dimensions situat a la vila de Madrid, construït per Alonso Carbonel, probablement sota les idees de l'arquitecte italià Giovanni Battista Crescenzi, que va servir de segona residència i lloc d'esbarjo del rei Felip IV de Castella. Es va edificar en el Prado, llavors límit oriental de la ciutat, en una ubicació oposada a on estava la residència oficial dels monarques, el Reial Alcàsser.
