Caramany és un municipi de la comarca de la Fenolleda, al departament dels Pirineus orientals. Els seus habitants són anomenats carmanhòls en occità. Caramany és conegut per la seva presa, el llac, i el seu vinyer. El parlar de Caramany ha conservat, igual que els parlars de Rasigueres i Planeses, nombrosos trets lingüístics catalans, fet que fa que hom el consideri un parlar occità de transició vers el català.
