El Centre de Documentació de l'Institut Internacional de la Marionette acull la col·lecció especialitzada més gran sobre titelles d'Europa.
La creació del Festival Mundial de Teatres de Titelles va tenir un enorme impacte en la vida cultural de la ciutat de Charleville-Mézières.
El 1981 es va crear l' Institut Internacional de la Titella , dedicat íntegrament a l'art de la marioneta. El 1987 va obrir les portes l'Escola Superior Nacional d'Arts de la Titella (ESNAM) , on es graduen cada tres anys quinze estudiants de tot el món.
- més de 12.000 llibres , inclosos 4.700 títols especialitzats sobre titelles;
- una col·lecció de més de 3.200 vídeos , inclosos enregistraments de programes i pel·lícules animades de tot el món;
- més de 8.600 arxius documentals sobre empreses, festivals i organitzacions de tot el món;
- una col·lecció de més de 1.600 canells , que pot ser consultada prèvia sol·licitud pels investigadors residents;
- un fons iconogràfic de gairebé 11.000 documents, actualment en procés de tractament i que conté una gran riquesa fotogràfica i de cartells;
- al voltant de 300 manuscrits...
El Centre de Documentació atén estudiants, passants i investigadors i és obert a professors, artistes i públic en general.
