Kent és un comtat del sud-est d'Anglaterra. Limita amb els comtats d'East Sussex, Surrey i Gran Londres, i defineix la seva frontera amb el d'Essex en el mig de l'estuari del Tàmesi. Al comtat hi ha la seu de l'arquebisbe de Canterbury i del bisbe de Rochester.
Les dues localitats amb status de "ciutat" en el comtat són Canterbury, seu de l'arquebisbat de Canterbury, i Rochester, seu del bisbat de Rochester. No obstant això, el 1998 Rochester va perdre la seva condició oficial de ciutat.
