Eubea és una illa de Grècia, la més gran després de Creta, al nord de l'Àtica i a l'est de Beòcia, Lòcrida i Tessàlia de les quals està separada en el punt més reduït per l'estret d'Euripos, on un pont l'uneix al continent. Fou coneguda també amb el nom de Negrepont . Juntament amb l'illa Skíros forma la prefectura o nomós d'Eubea , de què és capital Calcis , dins la regió de Grècia Central. Fins al primer de gener de 2011 fou una de les 51 prefectures en què es dividia el país; a partir d'aleshores es convertí en la unitat perifèrica d'Eubea.
