Kirken for H. Carolus Borromeus stammerer fra 1865. Det er et af de smukkeste eksempler på neogotisk eklekticisme i regionen. Bygningen af kirken indledte dannelsen af en ny sogn på Ruiseledes område, komplet med præstegård, skoler og butikker. Den store drivkraft bag projektet var præst Carolus Doom. Derfor kaldte folk stedet Doomkerke.
