I Lichtervelde er der et mindesmærke for Henri Van Lerberghe, også kaldet "Ritten" Van Lerberghe. Han blev kaldt "Dødskøreren", fordi han til hver stor konkurrence konsekvent advarede sine modstandere om, "at han ikke ville stoppe, før de ville falde i død".
