Liège er hovedstaden i provinsen Liège i Belgien. Byen ligger ved Maas, cirka 30 km opstrøms fra Maastricht. Byens kaldenavn er La Cité Ardente. Dette navn nævnes første gang i den historiske roman af samme navn af Henri Carton de Wiart fra 1904. Kommunen Liège har 197.327 indbyggere, hvilket gør den til den fjerdestørste kommune i Belgien efter indbyggertal. Cirka 30.000 indbyggere har en udenlandsk nationalitet. Hele det urbane område i Liège har omkring 600.000 indbyggere.
