På Polderdijk, lige overfor gården "'t Meeuwenhof, står en iøjnefaldende jernstang på en sokkel af mursten og skifer med inskriptionen “geodesisk station 1853”.
Et geodetisk signal eller geodetisk punkt er et fast kendt punkt, hvorfra man starter målingen af afstande til kortlægning af et bestemt område.
Jernstangen langs Polderdijk er det geodetiske signal fra Zandvoorde, som er en del af et geodetisk net fra midten af det 19. århundrede, mere bestemt et trekantsnet, hvor vinklerne blev målt, og hvis skala blev bestemt ved målingen af tre baser i Belgien, nemlig Oostende, Lommel og Hamipré.
