Det var i 1260, at Gérard de Villers, ridder af Templarordenen, modtog fra Flône-klosteret godserne Villers og Clémodeau i bytte for andre ejendomme fra Tempelordenen i Hesbaye. Gérard grundlagde en kommanderi af ordnen på disse godser. Da ordnen blev opløst, overgik al dens ejendom successivt til Hospitaliterne fra St. Johannes’ orden i Jerusalem (som blev til Malteserordenen i 1530). Fra den gamle kommanderi kan man se de omkringliggende mure og et rundt tårn. En Templar-kommanderi var en gruppe af bygninger, der både fungerede som kloster og gård og havde til formål at skaffe midler til at støtte arbejdet for Tempelriddere i Det Hellige Land.
