Søjlen, der fremgår af Colognys våbenskjold og som giver dem karakteren af talende våben, minder om den ved Port Noir, hvor schweizerne ankom den 1. juni 1814. Deres heraldisk beskrivelse er: "skjold: azur med en søjle af sølv, stammen bæret af datoen 1814 i sort, placeret på en sølvbund."
Disse våbener blev vedtaget af byrådet i kommunen Cologny den 4. april 1922.
