Den statsanerkendte ferieby ligger mellem Würzburg og Aschaffenburg midt i naturparken Spessart. Hovedbyen ligger ved tilløbet af Laubersbach til Lohr; Habichsthal i geografisk adskilt lille område cirka fem kilometer vest herfor i den korte Mühlbach-side dal af Aubach, der først flyder ind i Lohr under kommunegrænserne. Den med 460 m over havets overflade topografisk højeste punkt i kommunen ligger vest for Habichsthal på østskråningen af Sandkopf, den laveste på 199 m over havets overflade ved Lohr.
