Proissans er en kommune bestående af en hovedby og flere landsbyer og enkeltgårde med 1.043 indbyggere i den sydøstlige del af den sydfranske afdeling Dordogne i regionen Nouvelle-Aquitaine i det gamle kulturlandskab Périgord. Byen Proissans ligger godt seks kilometer nordøst for byen Sarlat-la-Canéda eller cirka 65 kilometer sydøst for Périgueux i en højde af ca. 185 m over havets overflade. Klimaet er tempereret og påvirkes ligeledes af Atlanterhavet samt bjergene i Centralmassivet; regn falder fordelt over hele året.
