Wells er en lille katedralby. Den blev brugt i TV-miniserien "Jordens Søjler" til slut. Det sidste luftfoto er af nutidens Wells med katedralen ændret af computer-genereret billede. Dette er så tæt, som man kan komme på den katedral, der er beskrevet af Ken Follett i sin berømte roman Jordens Søjler, fordi bygningen af en katedral fandt sted i den fiktive by Kingsbridge.
