Winchester er en katedralby i Hampshire, England. Byen ligger i hjertet af det større Winchester byområde, et lokalt forvaltningsdistrikt, ved den vestlige ende af South Downs National Park, ved floden Itchen. Det ligger 60 miles sydvest for London og 14 miles fra Southampton, dens nærmeste by. Ved folketællingen i 2011 havde Winchester en befolkning på 45.184. Det større Winchester byområde, som omfatter byer som Alresford og Bishop's Waltham, har en befolkning på 116.595. Winchester er amtshovedstaden i Hampshire og indeholder hovedkontorerne for Hampshire County Council.
