Philips Stadion ligger på Frederiklaan i Philipsbyen i bydelen Strijp i Eindhoven, lige ved centrum af Eindhoven. Lørdag den 12. december 1910 bliver Philips Elftal stiftet af ansatte fra Philips Glødepære-fabrikken i Eindhoven. Dette år er de første huse i Philipsbyen netop færdige, en fabriksby designet efter britisk forbillede for at kunne huse de mange nye ansatte. Den engelske fabriksby Port Sunlight tæt på floden Mersey og byen Liverpool er en af inspirationskilderne. En del af Frederiklaan bliver ikke bebygget, og på dette stykke grund spiller beboerne og ansatte fra Philips fodbold.
