Hunsel er en lille landsby i Mellem-Limburg, beliggende i et landligt, landbrugsområde i kommunen Leudal, 10 kilometer sydøst for Weert. Der bor 950 mennesker.
I den feudale tid tilhørte Hunsel Rijksherredømmet Kessenich. Efter 1794 blev Hunsel en selvstændig kommune. Især i det 19. århundrede fandt der udvikling sted på begge bredder af bækken, mens der efter Anden Verdenskrig især fandt udvidelse sted på den nordlige side af bækken.
