Det nordøst for Makkum, vest for Schraard, sydøst for Witmarsum og sydvest for Zurich, lidt øst for det sted, hvor Afsluitdijk når den frisiske kyst. Bymidten ligger syd for A7 ved Gooiumervaart. I 2021 havde landsbyen 285 indbyggere. Under landsbyen hører også nøgleområderne De Weeren, Doniawier, Gooium og Hayum. Oprindeligt hørte den lille by Hiddum også til Wons.
