I det tyvende århundrede søgte mange mennesker fra ind- og udland mod Roermond for at finde eftertænksomhed i denne særlige kirke, blandt andet med organiserede pilgrimsrejser. Kapellet er stadig meget travlt i pilgrimssæsonen, fra den første weekend i maj til midten af september. Hvad gør denne Pilgrims Kirke så særlig? Kapellet i 't Zand skylder sin tiltrækningskraft til Mariakulte, der går hundredevis af år tilbage, til 1418, da en polsk hyrde fandt en Mariafigur.
I århundreder er folk fra nær og fjern kommet til Roermondse Kapel i 't Zand for at bede hos Vor Frue!
