Det Nationale Teater i Oslo er en af Norges største og mest fremtrædende steder for optræden af dramatiske kunstformer.
Teatret havde sin første forestilling den 1. september 1899, men kan spore sine rødder tilbage til Christiania Teater, som blev grundlagt i 1829. Der var tre officielle åbningsforestillinger på efterfølgende dage i september: først, udvalgte stykker af Ludvig Holberg, derefter An Enemy of the People af Henrik Ibsen, og den tredje dag Sigurd Jorsalfar af Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson.
