Wängle liegt westlich von Reutte im Reuttener Becken am Fuß des Ski- und Wandergebietes Hahnenkamm. Es gehört zu den ältesten Siedlungsgebieten im Außerfern. Das Haufendorf ist mit den umliegenden Weilern weitgehend zusammengewachsen. Das Dorf Hinterbichl bildet eine im Gemeindegebiet von Lechaschau liegende Exklave.
