Das Tuxertal liegt in Tirol und ist ein Seitental des Zillertals, von dem es bei Mayrhofen abzweigt. Insgesamt ist es etwa 13 Kilometer lang und durch die Tuxer Straße erschlossen. Von Mayrhofen bis zum Ort Tux, bzw. Hintertux , der dem Tal auch den Namen gibt, liegt eine Höhendifferenz von etwa 850 m. Das Tal endet in Hintertux am Hintertuxer Gletscher.
