Historisch gesehen gehörte die Pfarrei zur Baronnie von Gavere, in der Kasselrei und dem Land von Aalst.
Das winzige Dorf hat nur ein Denkmal, die Sint-Gangulfuskirche. Diese stammt vermutlich aus dem 12. Jahrhundert, wurde aber inzwischen so oft umgebaut, dass von ihrem spätromanischen Ursprung nur noch die Seitenwände des Schiffs erhalten geblieben sind. Man verlängerte sie bereits im 13. Jahrhundert und ersetzte im 14.-15. Jahrhundert den flachen romanischen Chor durch eine polygonale gotische Konstruktion, die höher ist als das Schiff. Die Kirche wurde 1892-1893 restauriert, wobei der Leuvenser Architekt Joseph François Piscador eine neue Westfassade hinzufügte. 1936 folgte der Denkmalschutz. 2018 wurde diese Kirche zum Verkauf angeboten.
