Die Keuzemeersen liegen in einer Biegung der Leie auf dem Gebiet von Drongen-Baarle. Während des Winters sind es nasse Wiesen, die nur selten überflutet werden. Auffällig sind die Hecken und Pollerweiden, die in anderen Wiesen rund um Gent verschwunden sind. In den zentralen, tief gelegenen Parzellen brüten Löffelenten, Gelbe Wiesenpieper, Schilfrohrsänger und mehrere Kiebitzpaare. In den Hecken finden Steinkäuze Unterschlupf. Die Blumenpracht im Frühling hat bildreiche Namen wie Malvenblume, Wassergeißblatt, Rohrkolben oder Mäuseohr.
