Im neuen Antwerpener Stadtviertel Nieuw Zuid ist der Begriff „Stadtentwicklung” deutlich erkennbar. In nur wenigen Jahren ist zwischen der Antwerpener Südstadt und der Schelde ein neues grünes Stadtviertel mit Hochhäusern, einem großen Park, zahlreichen neuen Einrichtungen und vielem mehr entstanden. Durch den Bau des neuen Gerichtsgebäudes, sowie die Restaurierung des ehemaligen Güterbahnhofs durch die Bank van Breda wurden einst erste Impulse für das neue Viertel geschaffen.
