Das Fort von Oelegem war einst eines der größten und schwersten befestigten Forts der Festung Antwerpen. Heute findest du dort einen der wichtigsten Überwinterungsplätze für Fledermäuse in Westeuropa. Es ist dort nämlich kalt, feucht und ruhig. Du kannst während des jährlichen Tags der offenen Tür (letzter Sonntag im April), dem Tag des Parks (letzter Sonntag im Mai) und den offenen Fledermausabenden (August und September) oder auf Anfrage mit einem Führer einen Blick hineinwerfen.

Das Fort von Oelegem ist leider nicht rollstuhlgerecht. Du kannst jedoch kurz das Gelände befahren.
