Gedern ist eine Kleinstadt im Nordosten des hessischen Wetteraukreises. Der Ort ist ein anerkannter Luftkurort.
Die Stadt Gedern liegt ca. 50 km nordöstlich von Frankfurt am Main am Rande des Vogelsberges, etwa in der Mitte Hessens. Sie liegt in einem Tal des Mittelgebirges Vogelsberg, ungefähr in der Mitte zwischen Fulda und Frankfurt am Main . Sie ist Teil des Naturparks Vulkanregion Vogelsberg. Gedern liegt auf einer Höhe von 357 m.
