Der Flecken Lauenförde ist eine Gemeinde im Süden von Niedersachsen und gehört zur Samtgemeinde Boffzen des Landkreises Holzminden.
Lauenförde liegt am Oberlauf der Weser, am Südwestfuß des Solling und etwa 4 km westnordwestlich des bei den Hannoverschen Klippen gelegenen Dreiländerecks Hessen–Niedersachsen–Nordrhein-Westfalen. Die nächsten Ortschaften sind Beverungen am gegenüberliegenden Weserufer, Würgassen, Herstelle , Bad Karlshafen und Meinbrexen . Zu Lauenförde zählt die östlich oberhalb der Ortschaft liegende Bauerschaft Brüggefeld.
