Plessa ist eine Gemeinde im südbrandenburgischen Landkreis Elbe-Elster und Sitz des Amtes Plessa. Sie befindet sich etwa acht Kilometer östlich der Stadt Elsterwerda im Norden des Schradens, einem Niederungsgebiet der Schwarzen Elster.
Zur Gemeinde gehören die Ortsteile Döllingen und Kahla sowie der Wohnplatz Plessa-Süd. Döllingen und Kahla wurden am 31. Dezember 2001 eingemeindet.
