Wangerooge ist eine Insel im niedersächsischen Wattenmeer innerhalb des gleichnamigen Nationalparks. Sie ist die östlichste der sieben bewohnten Ostfriesischen Inseln und mit 7,94 Quadratkilometern Fläche das zweitkleinste bewohnte Eiland dieser Gruppe. Wangerooge gehört als einzige der bewohnten ostfriesischen Inseln nicht zum historischen Territorium Ostfriesland, sondern ist historisch Teil des friesischen Jeverlandes und des Landes Oldenburg.
